How To Tell Bee Is Gone For The Night
#1: I begin a movie well after 9 p.m., concurrently employing Ben and Jerry to keep me company.
They do so.
A little too well:
#2: Movie over at 11:10, I decide I must do a quick check of my e-mail before going to bed. While online, I am distracted by a photo slideshow of celebrities in bikinis. There are 130 photos, and I view them all.
It is irrelevant that I keep asking myself why I'm still clicking on photos since I don't care about these people . . . since I obviously do care . . . as evidenced by the fact that I view all 130 photos.
#3: It is 11:45, and now I'm researching some of the bikini celebrities of which I'd never heard.
#4: A celebrity led me over to imdb.com, where I somehow decided to look up Mark Walberg's profile. Due, I hope, to the late hour and the lingering effects (or is it affects?) of my binge with Ben and Jerry, I am finding Marky Mark's back story fascinating.
I almost order up his biography from the library to read as one of my IntelliQuest books. (But, shockingly, common sense prevails.)
#5: Now I've somehow found myself on a site that teaches girls how to more-effectively read guys for dating success. I do not need, nor have I any desire, to date, being happily married to my apparently-ill-advisedly-absent husband. However, I still find it necessary to watch a few of these dating webisodes, including one that talks about more-effective texting techniques.
And I don't even own a cell phone with texting capabilities.
#6: It is now 12:36, and I'm still awake, despite the fact that I am tired and must be up early tomorrow for an appointment.
You must understand that I am rarely up this late, as I must go to bed before Bee so that I can toss and turn for awhile before falling asleep, thus not disturbing him when he comes to bed and falls asleep within 2 minutes.
It occurs to me that it is therefore Bee's fault that I am up so late, as I am exercising my freedom to investigate crap . . . just because I can.
Still, it is now 12:42, and I REALLY MUST GO TO BED.
#7: So I log in and blog about all this instead.
(#8: And I even stay up 'til 1:21 to proofread, revise, and take pictures for this post. Because that's important.)
They do so.
